Lonesome No More! Theatre Presents Woyzeck By Georg Büchner In East Hollywood November 17 – December 1, 2011.
Exciting Young Theatre Company Collaborates With Live/Work Studio Yeaheavy to Bring Büchner’s Most Famous Work to New Light

October 26, 2011

Los Angeles, CA – Lonesome No More! Theatre presents Nicholas Rudall’s 2002 translation of Woyzeck by Georg Büchner at Yeaheavy, a new home for the arts in Los Angeles located in East Hollywood. Woyzeck has nine performances, including two late-night Saturday shows, from November into the beginning of December.

Woyzeck is the story of a young soldier shouldering overwhelming burdens - a young wife, an infant child, and an entire army of men determined to bully him to madness. In an attempt to cushion his meager wages, Woyzeck voluntarily subjects himself to the paid experiments of a demented Doctor who requires him to subside solely upon hopes of scientific revelation and a strict diet consisting exclusively of peas. Woyzeck is a tragedy of helplessness loaded with temptation, existential struggle, and social satire. Lonesome No More! Theatre’s collaboration with Yeaheay, a new live/work space for exhibition and performance in East Hollywood, brings Woyzeck into the home, inviting audiences to sit at the dining room table while watching the play unfold over every square foot of the domestic space.

Lonesome No More! Theatre is a Los Angeles-based company of creative producers and performers known for highly energetic productions boldly staged to utilize the entire theatrical space. Founded in January 2011, the company’s debut was an award-winning, sold-out production of Frank Wedekind’s Spring Awakening for the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June 2011, followed by a new work titled Making Love Over There at Theatre Asylum in September 2011. Woyzeck is the company’s third production.
