Spring Awakening & The Complex Theatre

We've already told you a bit about our participation in the Hollywood Fringe Festival, but today we are happy to give you a little photo-tour of our performance venue: The Ruby Theatre at The Complex Theatre & Studios. The Complex is a well-known venue in Hollywood, with several theaters booked solid with Hollywood Fringe shows in June, located at 6476 Santa Monica Blvd, conveniently across the street from Fringe Central (ArtWorks Theatre)!

55 seats in the theatre's namesake shade, waiting for you. The exit sign on the right side of this photo marks a runaround door that artists can (and will) use to exit out the back of the theatre, run around to the front entrance, and reappear somewhere else.

The stage is 18x22 feet with an adjustable back curtain that both hides and reveals the backstage area. If this space looks a little familiar to you, that may be because The Ruby was also a Hollywood Fringe venue in 2010 - and home to Moving Parts Theatre's Pagan Play, a production that several of our company members were involved in.

This is the sidewalk view of The Complex, looking west on Santa Monica Blvd. There are marquee signs out on the sidewalk to grab your attention and plenty of street parking available in the adjacent neighborhoods. There will also be evening valet parking.

We've already begun rehearsing in the theatre this month, building the work inside the theatre to bring you a show that will truly emphasize and take advantage of every nook, cranny, and corner that The Ruby has to offer. There's much work to be done yet, but we are truly looking forward to showing it all to you soon.
