The Process: MASK MAKING!

We are extremely excited about our recent design collaboration with our friend and fellow director/ designer extraordinaire Lori Petermann.  Lori has designed and constructed masks for productions all around the globe with the world-renowned Theatre Mitu, as well as for her own shows at UCSD, in NY, and abroad.  We are huge fans of Lori's work and we are absolutely honored and thrilled that she has jumped on board to create the masks for our very own production of Spring Awakening!  Since most cast members are playing multiple roles, young and old alike, we are utilizing masks for the adult characters to illustrate the fact that they have already chosen the identity that they are going to present to the world. This past weekend Lori took over our kitchen, threw some plaster on our cast members' faces (meticulously and with the utmost expertise of course), and started makin' some MAGIC.  It was a super fun and messy day and we can't wait to see the finished product!
